Vagkraft 2008 – 294 – VW Golf

Anyone got any experience with this? I’ve seen this but I’d be doing it on the 2.0L not the TDI. I personally have never done an auto to manual swap and I dont have a problem jumping into things that’re over my head and learning while i go, I just dont know if i can do it on a reasonable budget. Any input?

You will probably need a new ECU as well, along with the pedal box and trans. An ECU is probably pretty pricey considering it’s a newer car. We were going to convert my E36 325is to manual, but it would be cheaper and obviously easier to buy a manual car than to swap the trans.

 10w 40 is what you need its canny cheap from vw i just got some for my 1.8t 22quid you wont find it much cheaper than that for 5lts anywhere, halfords normally have a  offer on mobil1 oil 10w 40 for about 20quid even there own brand is £25 its up to you!

 ill look for some castrol 10/40 then. Thanks for the advise guys. Just llooking through the file that i had when i bought the car it says its had a custom remap, and theres also a rolling road print out with a reading of 169 bhp surely you can get more than that from a re-map?? Whats the next step ? a piggyback chip? dont really wanna spend loadsa money on it, but to get around 200bhp for the summer would be nice.
